Homemade Iced Tea

With summer officially upon us, the cravings have started for delicious summer drinks! I made iced tea from scratch! The trick is mixing black tea with something fruity to give it some depth!

Homemade Iced Tea

2 bags of black tea
2 bags of fruity herbal tea (I used a loose leaf raspberry ginger green tea)
1.5 L of boiling water
1 lemon, juiced
1/4 cup sugar
10 mint leaves (or 5 mega mint leaves)
Ice

Place the 4 tea bags in a pitcher and pour over the boiling water. Let the tea bags steep for 10 minutes or so, or to your preference. Remove the tea bags and chill the pitcher in fridge for an hour or so, to cool slightly.

Add the lemon juice, sugar and mint. Mix and taste. Add more sugar or lemon juice if needed.

Pour in a glass and add some ice and go sit out on the patio!

  1. I was all gung-ho about making iced tea the other day, and then I realized I do not own a) a pitcher b) ice cubes c) lemons. I probably just had hot tea instead.
I JUST bought a pitcher today, so iced tea will happen soon!
