Cupcakes (and cakes in general) are something I rarely make (I leave that to Steph!) - that extra icing step just turns me off. Luckily my apartment is within walking distance of 4 different cupcake stores! Crave cookie and cupcakes, a Calgary based company just opened up a store in Edmonton.
I love Crave and have always made sure to stop by their store whenever I pass through Calgary. Their cupcakes are gigantic! The great thing about them though is they are really light for their massive size! The cake itself is fluffy and perfectly moist, while their buttercream is soft, not too sweet, but oh so delicious. And the ratio of icing to cake is perfect my tastes. They're simple, but really well made and definitely give you that home baked cupcake feeling.
So if you on Whyte ave definitely stop and pick yourself one up!
