As I've mentioned before - I need salmon to be interesting in order for me to want to eat it. I decided nothing would make me want to eat salmon more then if I marinated it with some of my favourite flavours: soy sauce and fresh ginger!
We had bought a bunch of cedar planks last BBQ season and decided to pull one out the other night to cook our salmon. It added a great smoky flavour, but certainly isn't necessary.
Ginger Soy Marinade for Ginger Soy Salmon
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
2" piece fresh ginger, grated (the more the better!)
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Mix ingredients in a shallow bowl. Place in two salmon fillets (or protein of choice) and let it marinate in the fridge for 30-45 minutes.
Cook and enjoy with rice and veggies!
