Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Without a doubt, my favourite cookies. The best way to describe them is the cookie version of a brownie.

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
4 x 1 oz melted unsweetened chocolate squares
2 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Icing sugar

Cream butter and sugar together, then beat eggs in one one at a time. Add vanilla and melted chocolate and mix.

Mix dry ingredients together, then add to wet mixture and mix.

Make 1/2 inch balls with batter, then roll in icing sugar until coated. Place on a greased baking sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes. You can tell they are perfectly done when they crack open and the edges look firm but the center is still wet and soft.

Makes about 3 dozen.
